Case Study: Automotive Industry
“A smart architecture is key to long-term success. No one wants to keep redesigning as they grow.” - Ray Milhem
Our mid-size client was struggling with their business & technical plans to introduce Digital Twin (sometimes referred to as IIoT or Industry 4.0). Our team worked with their CIO to first understand their business needs, Infrastructure, workflow, and back office. Then our team started providing an Architecture for a scalable platform that will handle all the thousands of messages that are coming from the car via IoT sensors embedded in various parts of the car (e.g: Dashboard, A/C system, Engine, Tires, etc…).
A careful analysis & comparison of what was originally planned (to build the car) as they were designed using various CAD, CAE and PLM systems vs. the real life data received from the IoT sensors on the car car (predictive analytics) was conducted by our team.
Budget: Not disclosed. Our team delivered the proposal and handed it over to the IT & Engineering team 2 weeks prior to the deadline.
Purpose: Cost reduction, improve performance, higher ROI on Tech investment.
Outcome: Our proposal for Digital Twin helped this client in creating various preventive maintenance & service packages, enhance the design of their cars for the next year’s model, and allowed them to collect various amounts of data for further AI analysis.
